Ruth Kala Stephen is the Co-founder of Smyrna Assembly and has served alongside her husband, The Late Rev John Sam Stephen, for more than 30 years. Pastor Ruth is also a gifted Administrator and is pivotal to the Administration of Smyrna Assembly.

Pastor Ruth is known as a Bible teacher and a passionate preacher. Pastor Ruth preaches hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. Over the years, God has provided Pastor Ruth with many opportunities to share her testimony and the life-changing message of the Gospel in India, Indonesia, Nagaland, Malaysia, United States, Canada, South Korea, Australia, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. She is an incredible testimony of the dynamic, redeeming and restoring work of Jesus Christ. She believes and teaches that regardless of a person's background or past mistakes, God has a place for them and can help them on their path to enjoying everyday life. 

Pastor Ruth also brings with her more than 38 years of Nursing experience. Being a Senior Staff Nurse, Pastor Ruth and has helped to bring the Healing power of Christ to many patients. She also received many Awards for her outstanding service as a nurse. Pastor Ruth and her Late husband, Rev. Dr. John Sam Stephen, have been married for over 32 years, and they are the parents of two grown Son's, Samuel Gift Stephen and Joel Daniel Stephen, two daughter In-laws Grace Deborah Samuel and Rekha Rebecca and two Grandson's Ivan and Ian.
