- 1980 | Smyrna Assembly’s Journey Begins
- Rev. Dr. John Sam Stephen & Pastor Ruth Kala and 7 workshippers gathered for the first Sunday morning service at Marsiling, Block 24
- From a humble beginning of 7 workshippers the group outgrew the house we were workshipping in and God enabled us to workship at a Presbyterian Child Care Centre @ Marsiling, Block 23
- 1985 | Smyrna Moves to Jalan Kedai
- St Peter’s Church gave us the fully furnished “Old Canberra Theatre” at Jalan Kedai, Old Naval Base for free. Many were added and blessed.
- 1987 | Registrar of Society and Charity
- Smyrna Assembly was registered as a Society and Charity.
- Affiliated with Assemblies of God.
- 1995 | Moving Into the Promised Land
- Moved from “Old Canberra Theatre” to Temporary Shelter at Present Building Site in Yishun.
- 1999 | A Place Called Home
- Officially moved into New Premise at 3 Yishun Street 11 on July 1999.
- 2001 | 21 Years of His Faithfullness
- Smyrna celebrated 21 years of God’s Faithfulness along with Member of Parliament, Mr K. Shanmugam as Guest Of Honour.
- 2005 | 25 Years (Silver Jubilee) and Dr John’s 65th Birthday
- Smyrna Celebrated 25 years of God’s Faithfulness and Rev.Dr. John’s 65th Birthday along with Dr Paul Dhinakaran & Family.
- 13th April 2008 | The Next Chapter.
- Rev. Dr. John Sam Stephen went home to be with the Lord.
Pastor Samuel Gift Stephen was installed as the New Senior Pastor of Smyrna Assembly.
